Job Description

Summer 2025

Title I

Middle School Credit Recovery Program

Teachers

7 Positions)

Qualifications (Required):

  1. Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification in respective content area (ELA Math
  2. History/Social Studies or Science) at the middle school level
  3. Successful teaching experience
  4. Experience implementing standardsbased curriculum in one of the four content areas (ELA Mathematics Science and/or History/Social Studies).
  5. Analyze assessment data in the content assigned and create targeted instruction levels based on iReady and IXL data
  6. Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers students parents and
  7. administrators
  8. Teachers must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info.

Qualifications (Preferred):

  1. Experience working in the Malden Public Schools
  2. ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement
  3. Bilingual and/or ability to efficiently use language support and communication platforms

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Administer and score pre/post tests and write anecdotal evaluations. (iReadyELA IXLMath teacher created SS/Science)
  2. Participate in staff development meetings and lesson planning prior to instructing students.
  3. Effectively collaborate with colleagues in a wide range of tasks (ie. analyzing data Looking At Student Work aligning to standards)
  4. Plan and Implement rigorous and standardsbased lessons
  5. Collaborate with the Student Support Specialist in planning smallgroup instruction to ensure we address students academic gaps while also providing behavioral support and language development.
  6. Complete planning logs for each session and maintain student attendance records
  7. Outreach to caregivers in coordination with Program Coordinator and/or Student Support Specialist
  8. Keep folders/portfolios with student work
  9. Perform other related activities as required by the program coordinator or overseeing Director

Duration:

Program Administration and Implementation 86 hours total to include the following:

6 hours of PD and Planning $222

20 days MondayThursday June 30 July 31 8:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. $2960

Stipend: $37 per hour $3182 Total
