Upper School Science TeacherBeginning August 2025Description:Fay School seeks a dynamic flexible and creative Science Teacher who understands how to engage students in handson learning foster curiosity and inspire a lifelong love for scientific inquiry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science education and be able to teach any upper school course including life science physical science and biology. Candidates should be interested in innovatively integrating greenhousebased handson learning into the curriculum fostering students understanding of ecology environmental science and sustainability. Outside the classroom the Science Teacher is an advisor to a small group of students coaches or assists in other afternoon programs for two terms and participates in the residential life program as a campus resident or offcampus faculty member. This is a fulltime position and is eligible for benefits. Campus housing may be available.Qualifications:A bachelors degree in a scientific discipline science teaching education or a related field is required; a masters degree is preferred.Responsibilities include:Preparing and delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons to students in grades 79Effectively using technology to enhance instruction and learningAssessing student performance and providing feedback that supports growth and developmentConducting parent conferences and communicating effectively with parents and familiesCollaborate with colleagues in gradelevel team meetings and department meetingsAs an advisor serve as a primary point of contact for parents and familiesEngage in two trimesters of afternoon duties as assignedPerforming duties to support the Schools residential life programFay School values teachers who believe in differentiated and developmentallyaligned approaches to teaching and learning integrate instructional technology understand the importance of cultural competence and are attuned to the social and emotional growth of young students.
