Job Description

  • A University degree in Public Administration Public Policy Business Administration Law or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant and diversified work experience including strategic and operational business planning policy development and application project management research data analysis and reporting and stakeholder engagement.

Skills required for success:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively about complex or contentious issues with a variety of audiences
  • Experience with planning and executing stakeholder engagement
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research and analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to identify needs and form sound and defensible recommendations with respect to research engagement performance measurement and policy and business process development.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and work methods under broad direction
    Ability to handle complex and politically sensitive issues
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute business unit priorities under broad direction
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail Docs Sheets Calendar)
  • Relevant experience in the public sector or large organization is an asset
  • Experience with regulatory permitting or licensing is an asset

In this important professional role with the City of Edmontons Business Licensing team you will be responsible for developing and supporting policies and programs of the City of Edmonton Business Licence Bylaw 20002.

This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth application and interpretation of bylaws providing crucial support to businesses and other stakeholders. You will be a problemsolver a mentor and a collaborator contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our licensing processes. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects from bylaw and policy development to stakeholder engagement all while making a real impact on our city.
