Alcoa is currently looking for a motivational leader who can inspire change and make a difference at our Warrick Operations! As an Aluminum Plant Supervisor you will play a large part in the success of work and people engagement. This frontline leadership role is responsible for coaching and mentoring others to reach their full potential developing and upholding very high standards in safety and production practices while guiding diverse teams to achieve its goals.

About the role:

The Aluminum Plant Supervisor is responsible for the safety and health of the employees under his/her direction by recognizing and reducing risk and managing processes that prevent incidents in his/her areas. You must ensure that safe work procedures and practices are followed and address atrisk behaviors in the workplace. You will set communicate and implement priorities in alignment with the business objectives of Warrick Operations the location and the department of responsibility. This person will mentor and counsel employees and recommend improvement plans while leading and being accountable for the environmental health and safety performance and practices of the crew.

  • Provides technical experience and knowledge to production maintenance planning quality and engineering personnel.
  • Responsible for coaching and counseling employees on standard operating practices and best practices for increased performance.
  • Responsibilities range from leading troubleshooting efforts developing practices developing process improvements and to enhance productivity.
  • Accountable for traditional administrative tasks of crew leaders.

What you can bring to the role:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of the organization required.
  • Good computer skills including use of Microsoft Office.
  • Requires a progressive thinker who can initiate change
  • Available to work 12 hour rotating shifts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline
  • Supervisory experience in a union environment
  • Experience working in a smelter
  • Knowledge of ABS or Lean Manufacturing principles
