Southeastern Virginia Training Center is hiring a Food Service Technician I Driver to join our team. The position plays a key part in supporting the wellbeing of adults with intellectual disabilities by preparing and delivering meals food carts to and from residential homes and maintaining a safe and sanitary food service operation.

We are an intermediate care facility operated by the Department of Behavioral health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) where we support individuals in stateoftheart homes with accommodations unique to their specific needs. Job Duties

• Drive a delivery truck to and from the residential homes in any kind of weather.
• Load and unload food carts on and off the truck for delivery.
• Must perform these duties as trained and follow all safety standards and posted speed limits.
• Push the food carts into the homes and connect them to a retherm unit.
• Double check all carts to ensure hot and cold food are on correct sides for delivery to homes.
• Responsible for washing dishes lids and food trays to BOH standards.
• Must properly assemble and disassemble the dishwasher.
• Set up trays with condiments and makes supplemental food orders.
• Assures food is served hot/cold as need requires.
• Wash carts inside and out and wash dishes pots pans and utensils.
• Keeps food service area clean by scrubbing tables and floors as needed.

Must be able to work rotating shifts scheduled between 5am1:30pm; 6am2:30pm and 10:30am7:00pm including weekends and holidays

This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested.

All new hires must successfully complete the facilitys Preservice training program. Preservice training class is 5 days long MondayFriday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Skills and experience required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active valid drivers license required
• Basic knowledge of food safety
• Must be aware of BOH regulations and can adhere to them.
