ABOUT LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES:
The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) is the second largest municipal health system in the nation. DHS operates as an integrated health system operating 25 health centers and four acute care hospitals in addition to providing health care to youth in the juvenile justice system and inmates in the LA County jails. Across the network of DHS directly operated clinical sites and through partnerships with communitybased clinics DHS cares for about 600000 unique patients each year employs over 23000 staff and has an annual operating budget of 6.9 billion.For additional information regarding DHS please visit.Through academic affiliations with the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) the University of Southern California (USC) and the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Sciences (CDU) DHS hospitals are training sites for physicians completing their Graduate Medical Education in nearly every medical specialty and subspecialty. In addition to its direct clinical services DHS also runs the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Agency and the Countys 911 emergency response system as well as Housing for Health and the Office of Diversion and Reentry each with a critical role in connecting vulnerable populations including those released from correctional and institutional settings to supportive housing.
THE MISSION:LICENSE:
***Registration in Magnetic Resonance Imaging by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) (and ****completion of a 12 month or longer course in magnetic imaging technology which included a clinical training component) AND a *****California Venipuncture Certificate which permits venous access are required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS INFORMATION:
*To qualify under Option I applicant must hold or have held the payroll title of MRI Technologist II with the Los Angeles County.
**Experience at the level of MRI Technologist II in the County of Los Angeles is defined as: under general supervision operates magnetic resonance imaging scanners to obtain a fullrange of images of delicate anatomical structures for physicians to diagnose pathological and traumatic disorders.
***Applications submitted without the required certificate and/or permit will be considered incomplete until such information is provided. The original license certificate and/or permit must be presented during the selection process and prior to appointment.
The required certificate and/or permitMUST be current and unrestricted; a conditional provisional probationary or restricted licensewill NOT be accepted.
****Official transcript must be provided showing completion of a 12 month or longer course in magnetic imaging technology which included a clinical training component.
*****Venipuncture certificate issued by a legitimateestablishment within the State of California would be considered towards satisfaction of the requirements for qualification for this exam.
