Job Description
Patient Care Technician Contract Position
- Location: Rochester New York 14621
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 8hr Days; 9a5p
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekly Pay Rate: $320 $400
Job Description:
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital setting. This role supports the nursing staff by assisting with patient care performing routine procedures and maintaining a safe clean environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing dressing grooming and toileting.
- Measure and record vital signs intake/output and other patient data.
- Assist with mobility positioning and transportation of patients.
- Observe and report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
- Support the RN during medical procedures and care routines.
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment including changing linens and sanitizing equipment.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care activities.
Requirements:
- Must have acute care hospital experience (REQUIRED).
- High School Diploma or GED (REQUIRED).
- Completion of a certified Patient Care Technician or Nurse Aide program.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA or Red Cross (REQUIRED).
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Travel & Local Considerations:
- Candidates outside a 50mile radius qualify for travel pay.
