The Community Life Educator role is rewarding as you actively support caregivers community members and children understand the importance of safety and injury prevention. The job offers a great deal of variety and opportunity to use your personal strengths while developing new skills and knowledge. Educators collaborate with a variety of organizations across the southeast corner of North Dakota and portions of Minnesota.Summary
Provides health education through Sanford Health sponsored and coordinated community classes.Job Description
Knowledge of and use of appropriate agerelated protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of identified populations. Coordinates predesigned curriculum and specific course logistics and objectives pertinent to subject matter. Presents health education and promotion programs such as training workshops conferences oneonone consultations and school or community presentations.
Provide feedback needed to assist in the development of new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
The Community Life Educator establishes strengthens and maintains community relationships and partnerships based on assigned focus area and expertise. Must be able to work effectively with groups and communicate with individuals and groups. Must have experience in adult learning and learning styles or as appropriate to developmental stage of participant. Experience in teaching and facilitation of groups essential. Community Life Educators have knowledge of community organizations and proactively collaborate with internal departments and outside organizations to better serve our community. This is done through the Safe Kids FargoMoorhead Coalition as well as partnerships through grant work.
Responsible for data collecting and administrative tasks associated with training courses as required by curriculum grant funded programs and state regulations when applicable.
Qualifications
Associates degree preferred. Area of focus in public health education healthcare or related field preferred.
Certification/licensure as appropriate and/or required by course content.
When applicable may need a valid drivers license.
If valid drivers license is required must maintain a good driving record.
