    When applying for an elementary teaching position please be advised that the applicants preferred grade will be given preference; however following a successful interview and reference check the District may extend the applicant a job offer to teach at a different grade level K6 based on school needs.

    The STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) Elementary School Teacher fosters a dynamic and engaging learning environment integrating interdisciplinary STEM concepts into the curriculum encouraging students to develop critical thinking creativity problemsolving and collaboration skills.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Bachelors degree from an accredited fouryear college or university
    2. State of Arizona Standard Professional Elementary K8 teaching certificate
    3. Experience working with elementaryaged students in an educational setting
    4. Experience working with a variety of handson inquirybased learning that prepares students for future academic and career success in STEM fields preferred
    5. Proficiency in integrating technology and digital tools into instruction
    6. Have knowledge skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    1. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
    2. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging studentcentered learning environment.
    3. Strong communication collaboration and organizational skills.
    4. Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and problemsolving skills.
    5. Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff students parents and community members.
    6. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
    7. Empathy patience and a genuine passion for working with students.
    8. Ability to understand and maintain students and parents rights to confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with such individual students.
    9. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
    10. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies including mandatory reporting procedures.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student exploration and skill development in STEM.
    2. Implement a STEMfocused curriculum aligned with state and national educational standards.
    3. Assist students toward the attainment of their potential for intellectual emotional and psychological growth and maturation.
    4. Deliver interdisciplinary lesson plans that incorporate science technology engineering arts and math in engaging ageappropriate ways.
    5. Utilize projectbased learning (PBL) and inquirydriven instruction to foster curiosity and exploration.
    6. Integrate technology coding robotics and engineering principles into lessons.
    7. Use differentiated instruction strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners including students with special needs.
    8. Work closely with colleagues administrators and support staff to enhance the schools STEM program.
    9. Collaborate with other educators to develop crosscurricular connections.
    10. Evaluate conscientiously and fairly the accomplishments of students and provide progress reports as required by law District policy and administrative regulation.

    14. Maintain accurate permanent academic and attendance records for students.

    17. Cooperate with other staff members in planning instructional goals objectives and methods.
    18. Assist in the selection of books equipment and other instructional equipment as applicable.
    19. Participate in professional development workshops and training to stay current on best practices in arts education.

    PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

    1. The teacher demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum subject content and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences.
    2. The teacher plans using the states standards the schools curriculum data and engaging and appropriate strategies and resources to meet the needs of all students.
    3. The teacher uses a variety of researchbased instructional strategies relevant to the content area to engage students in active learning to promote key skills and to meet individual learning needs.
    4. The teacher systematically gathers analyzes and uses relevant data to measure student progress guide instructional content and delivery methods and provide timely feedback to students parents and stakeholders.
    5. The teacher uses resources routines and procedures to provide a respectful positive safe studentcentered environment that is conducive to learning.
    6. The teacher maintains a commitment to professional ethics collaborates and communicates appropriately and takes responsibility for personal professional growth that results in the enhancement of student learning.
    7. The work of the teacher results in acceptable measurable and appropriate student progress.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to reach with hands and arms sit stand walk stoop and bend as necessary for student learning and safety. The employee maylift carry push pull or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens and use the telephone.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Indoor school building and classroom environment and ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have contact with students staff and the public.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
    The Classroom Teacher reports to the site administrator. The Classroom Teacher will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.
