Alstom has been awarded the PTA Australias $1.6 billion Railcar Program. As part of the project we will design manufacture and maintain 246 new railcars needed for METRONET projects and the replacement of the Aseries trains. We will also deliver 6 DMU railcars to replace the five diesel railcars that operate the twice daily Australind service between Perth and Bunbury.
We are in ramp up stage which means multiple opportunities to join others as you and the team embark on pivotal journey for our local community and state. We are seeking interest from individuals who hold a certificate III in Engineering or a relevant mechanical trade qualification to join our team at our Bellevue Site.
Your future role:
Reporting to the Production Manager this role would see you perform all Mechanical installations to complete the assembly of the train where no day will be the same but you will have plenty of opportunities to progress through the levels if you wish.
Monday to Friday Day and Afternoon shift available!Dayshift: 7am 3.30pm / Afternoon: 2.30pm 11pm.
Well look to you for:
Read apply technical documentation supplied.
Install and assemble railway vehicle components using standard work procedures hand & power tools.
Perform basic testing and support troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical systems and components installed in the railway car.
Use and manipulate lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install replace and align subassemblies and components.
Perform selfInspection of railway car components in order to identify defects and ensure quality.
Remove and replace defective parts and components.
Proficiently cross reference technical documents and highlight any discrepancies to the supervisor.
Organize work instruction documents tools and railway car parts daily.
All about you:
Mechanical Trade Certification or certificate III in Engineering or similar.
Experience within the manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
Ability to be able to interpret technical diagrams & drawings.
High risk tickets or licences (EWP working at heights etc) would be advantageous (but not mandatory).

Full Time
