The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) practices the culturally responsive pedagogy approach in providing an inclusive diverse equitable safe and healthy education that supports learning and success both personally and academically to the 59000 residents of Lunenburg and Queens Counties an area of 5250 square kilometres and a total of 23 schools.

SSRCE is currently recruiting Educators and other interested individuals to support our students who need a tutor. Maybe you or someone you know would be an awesome tutor for our students.

Webelieve and recognize any students who are unable to attend school for an extended period of time may benefit from tutorial support. Some of our students are absent for longer durations due to serious illness or medical treatment for a period of convalescence or for other extraordinary circumstances.

We have several specialized areas requiring tutoring support such as

1. Higher grade levelMathematics support (particularly high school Math)
2. High school content areas such asScience(Chemistry Biology Physics) and
3. All levels of P12English and P6 Math.

Ideally we are looking for Educators with a Bachelor of Education; however it is not always required. Tutors working with students for Grade 10 and Grade 5 Math should have experience and need to be qualified as a licensed teacher in the subject areas (retired or currently working). Educators are not able to tutor their current students.

Rate of pay is $32 per hour (with Bachelor of Education) or $19 per hour (without Bachelor of Education).

Position status is casual.
