The successful candidate will apply their knowledge of accounting principles to measure and monitor project financial performance and support activities associated with processing expense reports accounts payable timesheets travel credit card reconciliations and preparing reports. The ability to gather and analyze information from the financial systems will help lead to success in this position.
A successful Project Accountant II will be able to ensure compliance with Government contracting regulations Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and assist employees with various accounting and payroll questions.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Processes accounts payable vouchers.
- Reconcile the monthly corporate credit card statements for the contract.
- Create new Purchase Requisitions.
- Audit weekly timekeeping reports for labor processing.
- Coordinate with employees and managers on timesheet corrections issues and completions.
- Review employee expense reports for reimbursements.
- Serve as the backup Travel Coordinator processing travel orders monitoring for approval and communicating with employees managers and the Customer.
- Assist employees with various questions and concerns.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Bachelors degree in business administration finance accounting economics or another related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of successful experience in accounting to include accounts payable job costing general ledger reconciliation billing and report generation.
- Minimum 3 years experience in government contract accounting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly developed analytical critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a top priority.
- Must share a commitment to maintaining a positive collaborative work environment while simultaneously optimizing individual performance and contribution.
- Advanced skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word PowerPoint and Excel.
- Understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:- Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint is desirable.
- Familiarity with IBM Cognos Analytics is desirable.
- Familiarity with Box is desirable.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:- The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment.
