The Opportunity
The Empower program is a fullday six week camp for youth in Grades 810 which exposes them to a variety of STEM fields & pathways. This is done through a variety of workshops trips and leadership opportunities to boost youths career skills readiness & development.
Position Overview
As a Site Lead you will be responsible for executing programming directly with participants and supervising a team of facilitators to implement innovative leadershipbased initiatives and content that yield increased skill development confidence and socialemotional learning outcomes for children and youth.
We are looking for a passionate communitydriven leader who excels in facilitation program management and youth engagement. You should be enthusiastic about mentoring youth supporting a team creating meaningful learning experiences and thriving in a dynamic communitybased environment.
Position Details
- Contract Type/Term: Seasonal Hourly FullTime Contract.
- Note: During May and June work hours may vary and be less than 35 hours per week to accommodate training and program preparation. Fulltime hours 3540 hours per week) will begin in July and continue through August for the duration of the youth program.

- Up to 35 hours/week Monday to Friday
- Please note: A mandatory summer showcase will take place on Saturday August 16 or 23 2025.

- Salary: $24.12 CAD/hr

Major Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Program Implementation & Facilitation
- Complete lesson planning and implement workshops based on a set curriculum in collaboration with facilitators and program coordinators.
- Create a welcoming and safe learning environment that encourages active participation and strengthens socialemotional and leadership development.
- Coordinate with guest speakers and program partners for speaker sessions field trips and/or activities.
- Engage build rapport and maintain genuine healthy relationships with program participants.
- Foster mentorship through program activities and relationshipbuilding.
- Promote responsible and healthy decisionmaking among all participants.
- Develop leadership teambuilding and selfadvocacy skills among participants.
- Supervise participants and ensure their safety at all times.
Team Supervision & Development
- Supervise and support facilitators in implementing program content and activities.
- Conduct participant and team debriefs.
- Support and conduct team member training activities.
- Engage in and contribute to team development and recognition activities.
- Manage personnel budgets and approve staff hours (as required).
Outreach & Community Engagement
- Conduct participant and community outreach activities.
- Work with program implementation and community engagement teams to inform and implement outreach programs developed to meet participant engagement targets.
- Work with the team to host parent info sessions in communities to prepare parents/guardians.
- Communicate with parents send out updates reminders and opportunities about the program.
Administrative & Reporting
- Complete required administrative duties such as attendance feedback forms surveys and transcribe them to Google Drive in a timely manner.
- Participate in and contribute meaningfully to staff meetings program reviews and debriefs with the Program Coordinator to assess program progress and efficacy.
- Administer participant survey materials and focus group tasks.
- Support and inform the writing of program reports.
- Track and reconcile programrelated expenses.
- Administer necessary forms and evaluation tools including surveys and questionnaires to assess program strengths and areas for continuous improvement.
- Transcribe collected evaluations to Google Drive in a timely manner.
Operational & Logistical Support
- Pack restock and track program inventory and materials
- Lead support and implement program content capture for organizational communications.
- Represent Visions of Science at community events and public events supporting program visibility and stakeholder engagement.
What Were Looking For
Education & Training
- Candidates who are interested pursuing or have completed a field of study related to STEM education social work leadership or child and youth care are preferred.
Experience & Expertise
- Minimum of one 1 year of experience working with Visions of Science or two 2 or more years of program implementation or leadership experience in community development projects focused on children and youth from lowincome/marginalized communities.
- Proven track record in curriculum development lesson planning and workshop facilitation.
- Experience conducting formal and informal program evaluations including outcomes tracking and assessments.
- Strong behavioral management interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience supervising teams mentoring staff or volunteers and fostering professional growth.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with community stakeholders families and youth participants to enhance program engagement.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities with the capacity to balance multiple responsibilities in a fastpaced environment.
- Skilled at engaging youth in STEM learning through interactive workshops and handson activities.
- Ability to mentor facilitators provide coaching and support team development.
- Strong ability to build rapport with youth families and community partners.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Google Drive for administrative tasks and reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Ability to adapt to evolving needs take initiative and demonstrate accountability in all responsibilities.
Additional Asset(s)
- Lived experience from lowincome and racialized communities.
- G license and access to a vehicle.
- Experience in the notforprofit sector and a strong knowledge of issues impacting our communities.
