How will I help
The consumer Finance technology team works with multiple areas of Westpac to transform the business vision into reality by planning and delivering the projects alongside strategic partners. You will be working in a fast paced and agile team contributing to major transformation programs and supporting the divisions core systems.
We are seeking a handson full stack Engineer to build design maintain and test for the development of our technology used by Digital Consumer Finance Technology Team. You will be engaging with multiple stakeholders and be an expert in your domain whilst still supporting the wider engineering community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design Implement and maintain micro service (API) using SpringBoot.
- Design and develop user interfaces for customerfacing applications using React JS.
- Write clean modular maintainable code using modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
- Understanding of endtoend application performance and optimization techniques and tools.
- Implement responsive designs with reusable and scalable UI components.
- Problemsolving and debugging skills.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices of UI development
- Collaborate with service owners to understand the requirements and translate them into technical user stories.

What do I need
For this role you should have experience in financial services and have excellent analysis and design skills. You will have a genuine passion for automation and be customer focused with the ability to work in an agile fast paced environment.
You should have the below skillset and experience:
- CI/CD tools ie Bit bitbucket Jenkins or bamboo.
- React JS Redux Node JS.
- Restful API design principles and standards
- API security and authentication mechanisms (OAuth JWT)
- Spring Boot and Restful API
- HTML5 CSS3 & Java Script
