Visyis powering the circular economy closing the loop between packaging remanufacturing and recycling. Over 75 years weve grown to 7000 employees and 150 global operations predominately in Australia and New Zealand.

Visy recycles 512000 tonnes of glass containers jars and bottles and remanufactures them into 3.2 billion bottles and jars each year. Some of our most loved food and beverage brands are packaged in our glass confident in its premium quality and strong sustainability credentials. Weve set ourselves a target to increase the average recycled glass content used by our glass manufacturing plants to 70.

Our network of six glass remanufacturing facilities guarantees access to locally made glass. Were making major investments in glass recycling and remanufacturing in Laverton in Melbournes southwest and Yatala south of Brisbane so we can increase the glass we recover and turn back into glass packaging.

Based in Spotswood Melbourne the Job Change Crew will report into the Cold End Manager.

• To set up inspection line handling and packaging equipment eg:
• Inspection equipment set up
• conveyor speeds
• guide rail adjustments
• Inspection equipment set up
• sample challenge & adjustment
• Packaging centre setup
• Palletisers
• Rails
• handling
• understand and participate in Continuous Improvement and Problem solving start up machine and hand over under control using Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• start up machine and hand over machines under control use computer software systems to setup
• modify job run parameters
• set up and operate Annealing and Surface Treatment Processes
• Undertaking safety inspections hazard identification accident investigation risk assessment develop appropriate control measures and input related data
• Delivering on and off the job training and assess other employees up to the level of their competency
• Setting up & starting up and hand over the Forming machine under controlled conditions
• Cleaning of delivery equipment and associated ancillaries Maintenance of Hot End coatings start up machine and hand over under control using Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Understanding and participating in Continuous Improvement and Problem solving

What You Will Bring:

• Experience within a manufacturing production or industrial environment being able to demonstrate a very strong mechanical aptitude (whilst not essential a mechanical trade background will be strongly considered)
• Ability to perform a range of physical tasks including standing walking and lifting all in a safe and considered manner
• Excellent communicator and have the ability to work well under pressure
• Hold safety above all else have a knack for continuous improvement with a high level of attention to details
