Job Description
Nano Oneis a process technology company transforming cathode active material (CAM) production for lithiumion batteries. Our patented OnePot process enables costeffective scalable manufacturing with diverse raw material inputsreducing reliance on constrained global supply chains while enhancing regional production and competitiveness through innovation. We are looking for an innovative passionate senior scientist excited by solving technical challenges and working as a team to bringing creative thinking and innovation to continuously improve solutions and get results.
Position Summary:
As our newest Senior Scientist you will report to the Director of Technology and work on developing lithiumion cathode processing technologies. Your role will involve characterizing materials and testing battery cells within a multidisciplinary team of scientists engineers and technologists. Additionally you will focus on developing and characterizing highcapacity highvoltage cathode materials tackling multivariable problems in synthesis structural characterization electrochemical characterization and scaledup production for commercial use. You will also contribute to the commercialization efforts by controlling and finetuning the nanostructure and interfacial chemistries of cathode materials to ensure optimal electrochemical performance and scalability.
Responsibilities:
Assume management responsibilities of projects and leading junior team members.
Design and lead of effective and thoughtful test plans.
Synthesize cathode materials including such as LFP.
Work with other scientists to synthesize materials and establish process/structure/function relationships.
Work with engineers technicians and company leaders to scale and commercialize Nano One technology.
Look for ways to create IP in collaboration with others.
Draft proposals writes technical reports and presents progress on milestones.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience with a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or inorganic chemistry (post doc work is considered as experience)
Experience in wet chemical and/or solidstate synthesis and analysis of nanostructured materials
Handson experience with tools laboratory apparatus and analytical equipment.
Experience with electrochemistry and analytical tools (i.e. XRD and Rietveld refinement TGA/DSC SEM PSA EDX FTIR CV ICPOES CHN analyzers).
Strong communication skills in managing projects and crossfunctional activities.
Excellent skills in problemsolving and in datadriven decisionmaking.
Industry or equivalent handson experience with Liion energy storage technologies is a plus.
