About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager the certified Pathologist Assistant (PA) is a health professional who possess the knowledge technical abilities and problemsolving skills to perform Gross Room and Autopsy activities following procedures processes protocols and policies under the direction of the pathologist and laboratory management team. The PA assists the pathologist working in a leadership role by providing expertise in the initial assessment of surgically removed tissues evaluating gross pathologic features used to assist in diagnosis. The PA provides expertise and support to Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT) who are performing grossing. The PA may support the pathologist by performing autopsy prosection; procuring appropriate tissues and organs dissecting tissues and submitting the required tissue for pathological diagnosis.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Certified as a Pathology Assistant by the Canadian Certification Council of Pathologists Assistants (CCCPA) or by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) required or meets the requirements to achieve certification
- Must have demonstrated leadership skills; excellent organization and technical skills; as well as good decisionmaking skills
- Ability to work both independently/unsupervised and in a teamoriented environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Competencies in other languages an asset French preferred

Hours
- Permanent FullTime Position; 75 Hours Biweekly
Compensation and Benefits
$39.37 $47.94 Hourly
