Job Description

Aramark UK is looking for a Head Chef to lead the culinary team at one of our London sites the Royal Hospital for Neurodisability in Putney London.

Love creating meals that put a smile on peoples faces This role will oversee patient dining the onsite caf and hospitality. The role is permanent and fulltime 40 hours / week) working to a 5 over 7 pattern.


There are 100120 patients at the hospital with 50 on a regular diet and 50 on a modified texture diet. Three meals a day are provided to the patients and these are cooked fresh onsite. The Head chef is primarily responsible for cooking all food orders in an efficient manner being compliant to IDDSI guidelines.

A day in the life of a Head Chef:

  • Lead the catering services team encouraging best practice in all areas
  • Ensure Opx and waste management processes are in place and ensure food is IDDSI compliant
  • Ensure food allergies or dietary requirements are monitored and communicated
  • Cooking and preparing food ready for breakfast lunch and dinner service
  • Advocate staff compliance to ensure a safe high quality and costeffective service
  • Manage food ordering software issues and investigate feedback / complaints
  • Develop and work closely with General Manager SLT and Dieticians on seasonal menu and meal tasting
  • Support the client along with General Manager on IDDSI CQC and PLACE audits
  • Support the General Manager to lead future catering projects
  • Compliance with CQUIN healthier choices on retail account

Youll be set up for success if you have:

  • Good knowledge of the IDDSI framework would be preferable for this position
  • Previous experience in a similar care home or contract catering environment (healthcare)
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or experience working in a busy kitchen environment
  • IT skills great technical communication and Microsoft packages experience
  • Good knowledge of food production methods
  • Extensive knowledge on food allergens
  • An assertive yet approachable / helpful outlook
