Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a General Maintenance Mechanic 2
Position Status: Fulltime/40 hours per week Rotatingshift
Position defined as: Essential Personnel
Position Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH)
Norfolk Virginia
Position Summary:
Performs general maintenance as directed and as necessary on all aspects of building structure and systems to include floors walls ceilings lighting HVAC transportation systems mechanical electrical plumbing and other items.
Refrigerant Recovery certification Type I and Type II preferred or Universal preferred.
Standard Working Hours: Primary shift schedule: 10:00 PM 6:30 AM. Secondary shift schedule: 2:30 PM 11:00 PM.
Mission Essential Personnel.
Training provided during 2nd shift 2:30 PM 11:00 PM) and/or 1st shift 7:00 AM 3:30 PM). Primary responsibilities to include responding to elevator tube station and fire alarm trouble calls.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Drivers License (VA or NC)
- At least 1 full years of General Maintenance experience

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk VA is a 525bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
