Job Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for executing various objective tests on tires including Tire Rolling Resistance Wet Grip Objective Braking tests Passby Noise and Tire Buffing according to applicable ISO/SAE standards. Main responsibilities are the setup of testing equipment/machinery running the assigned tests and recording of data for customer reports according to internal quality documentation. Must be able to coordinate the various test programs and develop scheduling to ensure ontimedelivery to our clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily setup and calibration of appropriate test equipment/machinery for assigned projects
Operation of a multitude of test fixtures and vehicles to conduct tests according to standard procedures
Troubleshooting test fixtures and equipment as needed including but not limited to the disassembly of complex mechanical systems and replacement of parts
Coordinates with manager/engineer on test procedures to conduct on target programs to establish and manage own test priority schedule.
Mounts/balances test tires as needed to prepare for testing.
Communicates with appropriate team members on tires received.
Tracks organizes and helps respond to customer requests and questions.
Ensures security of test tire samples and testing equipment.
Handles the disposition of test tires.
Develops written procedures from industry test standards as needed.
Maintains quality procedures and protocol at all times; Assists with quality control.
Assists engineer as directed and/or assigned.
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Associates degree or one 1 plus years related mechanical engineering automotive tire experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Engineering/technical experience and fabrication a plus. Valid Drivers License is required.
