Job Description
Main Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a Seasonal Worker to assist with essential glasshouse and grounds maintenance tasks at our Invergowrie site. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth operations in our facility during the busiest months of the year.
Main Duties
- Strimming and weeding of the standing out ground at Invergowrie
- Watering plants with time spent watering doubling during the summer months
- Supporting scientific staff by maintaining general service delivery
- Assisting with tasks while permanent staff handle more intricate duties including:
- Label production and labelling of pots
- Seed sowing and prickingout
- Propagation from root and stem
- Pest and disease control
- Service delivery in restricted glasshouses including the GM plant growth facility and plant quarantine facilities
Person Specification
Essential:
- A good level of physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- A strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Previous experience in gardening horticulture or groundskeeping
- Basic knowledge of plant care and maintenance
- Familiarity with using garden tools and equipment (e.g. strimmers)
