About Flywheel
The Opportunity
In this role you will support our Perpetua product which focuses on the seller and SMB market segment within the Flywheel portfolio. Perpetua provides growth optimization and reporting technology for the worlds smartest eCommerce businesses. Through the platform brands and sellers create goals based on strategy and rely on Perpetuas bestinclass alwayson optimization to execute tactically.
As a Senior Software Engineer Backend with Perpetua you will be contributing to web applications written in Django Python and ReactJS / Typescript to bring a great Perpetua experience to our users. Amazon Ads is a $40B business today and every retailer on the planet is replicating the Amazon playbook weve already transformed the way businesses approach ecommerce and online advertising and were ready to continue growing.
What Youll Do:
- You will build endtoend features in our core platform across marketplaces like Amazon Walmart and Instacart.
- You will help us build deeper workflows into retail media platforms from across the globe.
- You will contribute to system design and architecture across our backend microservices primarily deployed on GCP. From how we ingest and process terabytes of data every day to how data flows through our systems to power our platform.
- You will work closely with a team of 45 engineers a product manager and a designer to deliver a smooth experience to our customers.
- You will support the wider engineering organization by identifying areas of improvement proposing RFCs seeking feedback early and often iterating over your ideas and cocreating something better than you could have done by yourself.
Who You Are:
- 5 Years of software engineering experience in webbased technologies at a product company.
- Proficient in backend development with strong experience in a backend language preferably Java.
- Experienced in frontend development using JavaScript and modern frameworks ideally React.
- Skilled in designing deploying and managing distributed systems with experience in cloud platforms such as GCP and/or AWS.
- Fullstack development experience across different technologies and frameworks preferably with Spring Boot.
- Ability to create clear technical designs and provide wellreasoned explanations for your ideas.
- Write clean secure and scalable code that adheres to best practices and industry standards.
- Passionate about product and feature development with a strong drive to improve user experience.
- Highly selfmotivated and able to work independently with excellent time and task management skills.
- Strong understanding of ObjectOriented Programming (OOP) principles and data structures.
- Emphasis on UI/UX design with a strong focus on customer experience and usability.
- Solid understanding of security fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written with proficiency in English.
- Experience with both NoSQL and relational databases.
- Proficient in testdriven development (TDD) and agile engineering practices including continuous integration.
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment and collaborating as part of a distributed team.
- Practical experience with distributed version control systems particularly Git in a team setting.
