Job Description

Job Title: Occupational Therapist Community
Band:Band 6
Location: Farnham Surrey
Working Hours:37.5 hours per week
Rate: Competitive to be discussed upon application

Pulse Healthcare is currently seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our NHS clients team in Farnham Surrey. The post is available to start as soon as possible offering fulltime hours for a shortterm contract.

What will your responsibilities be

You will manage a diverse caseload of patients with complex multipathologies including fasttrack admissions dialysis COPD diabetes and pressure damage. You will play a key role in discharge planning liaising with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) carers and families to ensure safe and timely discharge. Your responsibilities will include attending MDT handovers completing patient assessments prioritising care and issuing necessary equipment. You will work in a fastpaced environment managing a high turnover of patients and collaborate closely with Occupational Therapy delegating tasks where needed to support staff. Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise effectively are essential in this dynamic role.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Be HCPC registered as an Occupational therapist
  • Hold a relevant qualification in Occupational therapy
  • Must have Occupational Therapy experience.
  • Experience working as a Band 6 OT on Acute Medical wards (Respiratory Renal Cardiology Liver Gastro and Endocrinology)
  • Discharge Planning and knowledge of pathways
  • Working as part of an MDT
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Community experience
  • NHS Experience
  • Must own a car and drive too
