Job Description

The Scope

In 2020 the FSC members approved Motion 20 asking FSC to put Climate Change and Biodiversity loss as center stage in the implementation of the Global Strategy.

The Climate Biodiversity & Restoration Manager will support the Senior CBR Manager ensure conceptual alignment and operational progress on the current and future activities in Climate Biodiversity and Restoration (CBR) one of FSCs four priority actions for 2025.
This involves contributions to the development of a Board endorsed CBR Strategic Framework and related workplans in particular in engagement and communication activities.

Main Roles & Responsibilities
The tasks will be varied and will include:
  • Collaborate with internal teamsandconsultantstoensurestructurealignmentandconsistent communicationforCBR effortswithinFSCandenhancesynergiesbetween workstreams.
  • Support to the development of the CBR Strategic Frameworkandassociatedworkplans:
    • Provide input and conduct content reviews to ensurequality of deliverables.
    • Organize andanalyzeresultsfromconsultationsensuring stakeholder input is integratedin drafts.
    • Develop consultationreports.
    • Planorganizeand develop materials forworkshops webinars and side eventsto engagewith differentstakeholders.
    • Monitordiscussion channelsto track key topics andensure responsiveness.
  • Developcommunication materialsto ensure consistentand aligned messagingon CBRrelated topics for FSC members andotherstakeholders.
  • Prepareslide decksand reports for internal and external use.
  • Develop asystem for monitoring measuring and evaluating the progress on the implementation of the CBR Strategic Framework.
  • Support the implementation of the CBR Strategic Framework.
  • Support the integration of the CBR Strategic Framework in theFSCGlobal Strategy.
  • Support theanalysis of feasibility of CBR related motions and initiatives.
  • Represent FSC externallyinmeetings and events.
  • Additionaltasks as agreed with thesupervisor.
Your profile
  • University/technical college degreeinclimatescienceconservationforestry environmental sciences sustainabilityor a related field.
  • Training in Project Management Communications and/orBusiness Administrationis a plus.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experiencein one or more of the following:multistakeholder processesclimateconservationand/orrestorationglobalinitiatives.
  • Experience in developing strategic frameworks policies or action plansis a plus.
  • Experience working in international organizations NGOs or sustainabilityfocused initiatives.
  • Familiar withFSC certification.
  • Familiarwith international environmental policies standards (e.g. CBD UNFCCC IPBES) and best practicesis a plus.
  • Strong facilitation skills tolead discussions workshops and consultationsis a plus.
  • Stronganalytical and critical thinking abilities to assess complex topics compare options and propose evidencebased recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skillsto guide content discussionsandprepareclear and compelling communication materialsand reports.
  • Good timemanagement skills as well asstrongsense for diligence and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders including local communities indigenous peoples NGOs and industry representatives.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written.Spanish or French is a plus.
  • Solution and serviceoriented attitude to work.
  • Good skills in the use of/experience with standardsoftware packages (MS Office).
  • Ability toestablishand maintain positive interpersonal relations.
  • Commitment to FSCs mission and values.

  • Location: Bonn Germany.
  • Working Hours: Fulltimehybrid 2 days p/w in our Bonn office).Optionfor>80part time.
  • Duration of contract:2 years withthe intentto go openended.
  • Travel: the positionmay includesporadic travel
