JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer with a strong background in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) to join our team. This role is responsible for leading projects that drive process improvements enhance manufacturing efficiency and support new product introductions (NPI). The ideal candidate will have experience in SMT equipment process optimization quality control and automation working closely with crossfunctional teams to ensure highyield costeffective production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Management: Oversee and coordinate projects related to SMT processes ensuring timelines budgets and quality targets are met.
- Process Optimization: Analyze develop and improve SMT manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency yield and overall performance.
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Support the launch of new products by coordinating DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews process validation and pilot runs.
- Equipment & Technology Management: Evaluate install and optimize SMT equipment including screen printers pickandplace machines reflow ovens and AOI systems.
- Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving: Lead investigations into process defects yield losses and equipment failures implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure processes meet industry standards (IPC ISO etc. and customerspecific quality requirements.
- CrossFunctional Collaboration: Work closely with production quality maintenance and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Automation & Industry 4.0: Identify opportunities to implement automation data analytics and smart manufacturing solutions.
- Supplier & Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers for material selection tooling improvements and process enhancements.
- Training & Documentation: Develop technical documentation SOPs and provide training to production and engineering teams.
- Assists with the development and certification of Machine Operators and assists Engineers and others when needed
How will you get here
Education:
- BS in Engineering discipline required
Experience:
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in a SMT Manufacturing environment is required.
- Proven experience in operation and maintenance of Surface mounting technology equipment (from Laser mark screen printer SPI Pick & place reflow oven router selective & wave solder)
- Experience on Conformal Coating Router Selective and wave solder equipment is a plus.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
- Strong understanding of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes including screen printing pickandplace reflow soldering and AOI.
- Experience with SMT equipment (e.g. SPI AOI Xray reflow ovens stencil printers).
- Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and NPI (New Product Introduction) processes.
- Familiarity with IPC standards ISO quality systems and industry best practices.
- Understanding of root cause analysis (RCA) FMEA and problemsolving methodologies
- Advanced troubleshooting prioritization analytical and problemsolving skills
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and equipment diagrams is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- May be required to sit stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs. (Team Lift)
- Required vision abilities include close vision and extended use of computer monitor
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Primary work area is located in the office area with some time spent each day on the manufacturing floor
- The noise level in the work environment is normally low to moderate
- Occasional Travel (Domestic & International)
