The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy is currently seeking a full time Occupational Therapist I. The Occupational Therapist I provides effective and efficient rehabilitation in accordance with the AOTA guidelines for occupational therapy and participates in the development of services and programs provided by the University of Miami Health System.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs evaluation on new patients establishes goals and develops appropriate treatment plans.
Documents all evaluations treatments and other pertinent patient interactions.
Provides relevant education to patients and families regarding the patients condition.
Develops and maintains effective communication with all members of the rehabilitation team.
Communicates with physicians and their staff obtains necessary information and suggests revisions in treatment.
Participates in quality and safety improvement activities and orients instructs and directs work activities for assistants and support personnel.
Supervises and instructs physical therapy students and provides or participates in educational programs for staff patients and the community at large.
Participates in program development and marketing efforts.
Pursues professional growth actively through affiliation with professional occupational therapy associations and workshop and conference attendance.
Adheres to University and unitlevel policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in relevant field required
No previous experience required
Valid State of Florida Occupational Therapist (OT) license required

Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures technologies and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software technology and relevant computer applications.
Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
