Who We Are Seeking: We are looking for a selfmotivated experienced Skilled Laborer to join our team! In this role you will perform both skilled and unskilled tasks that directly contribute to the successful completion of construction projects. As a member of our Facilities Department you will assist with a variety of physical labor duties including new construction renovations and maintenance projects. You will travel to job sites work outdoors in various weather conditions and sometimes work in small spaces performing repetitive tasks. Your contributions will help us achieve the CVTC mission of helping our citizens and community thrive.
Qualifications Education & Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a construction worker laborer or in a similar role is required.
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills including the ability to communicate and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Strong time management problemsolving and organizational skills with a proven ability of meeting competing deadlines.
Must be familiar with and adhere to safe work practices.
Ability to lift and carry 5080 lbs. at times.
Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools as well as construction equipment.
Ability to function well under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software.
Certificates and Licenses: A valid Alaska Drivers license and the ability to be insured on CVTCs vehicle insurance policy is a requirement of this position.
PreEmployment Drug Screening: This position requires you to complete and pass a preemployment drug screening as a condition of employment.
Hiring Preferences: As allowed in P.L. 93638 preference for employment will be given to Alaska Native and American Indian peoples. CVTC also applies family and local hiring preferences.
