Phlebotomist full time days position in the Laboratory Unit at Lutheran Health Network Lutheran Hospital

PREVIOUS PROFESSIONAL PHLEBOTOMY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Full time: 40 hours/week; 5a1:30p
  • Holiday and weekend rotation required

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor provides support to technical staff in the identification collection logging processing and distribution of laboratory specimens and results. Performs EKGs in an outpatient setting. Performs registration of patients and other clerical duties.

Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications

Education/Registration/Certification: Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED).

Experience: A minimum of six months of phlebotomy experience to include pediatric adolescents adults and geriatrics.

Job Knowledge & Skills:

  • Requires working knowledge of the normal growth development related behaviors needs comfort and range of treatment appropriate to the age (including neonate child adolescent aging adult) and diagnosis of patients served to support the provision of an individualized multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Requires excellent organizational skills in order to keep operations flowing efficiently with no interruption in services and to maintain all related documentation per policies and procedures.
  • Requires knowledge of laboratory testing medical terminology data entry reporting procedures and related equipment in order to process specimens appropriately.
  • Requires a working understanding of laboratory policies and procedures in regard to specimen collection processing testing and reporting; in addition to the operation and maintenance of related equipment in order to support uninterrupted services in assigned areas.
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external unit customers as needed.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the English language both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrates well developed interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact with internal and external customers.
