You will join a growing team of assistants supporting students with special educational needs in class individually and groups situations to reach their full potential.
Our Learning Mentors work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SENCo to help deliver high quality learning to our students. We are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Learning Mentor to join this team who can understand the difficulties experienced by students with a wide range of SEND needs.
ICS Milan is an international school which offers a forwardthinking and exciting educational experience predominantly through English but with a strong and integrated Italian program. ICS currently caters for children from 6 months to 15 years of age with the plan to offer a complete educational route from nursery to IB diploma level as the school grows. The approach applied throughout the school aims to equip students with the values skills and experiences to enable them to become successful mindful and proactive global citizens.
In the Primary School our specially devised curriculum (Cambridge curriculum in Maths and English and IPC) offers rigorous and challenging learning outcomes within an exciting and thematic program based around five learning units each year. Incorporated throughout is our unique design thinking approach with a strong focus on encouraging and developing innovative and creative skills problem solving strategies collaborative working styles and excellent communication skills. We are a Paritaria school which means that some of our curriculum is delivered in Italian by specialist Italian teachers.

Successful candidates are able to inspire and motivate our learners and have the following requirements:
Experience in school or educational settings
Experience working with students at primary school age
English and Italian language proficiency
Ability to build relationships with young people based on mutual respect and trust
Understanding of issues related to underachievement and the barriers to learning that some students face
Very good numeracy/communication/literacy skills
Effective use of ICT and other specialist equipment/resources.
Ability to plan and prioritise effectively
Ability to act on own initiative and be well organized
Ability to communicate effectively with students adults families and colleagues
Ability to work constructively as part of a team and independently understand classroom roles and responsibilities and own position within these
Ability to selfevaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
Display commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
Appropriate first aid training
Safeguarding or Child Protection training
Experience of working with students with Learning Difficulties ADHD and Autism
Experience working with students in early years including nursery and reception
Understanding of the aims of the International Baccalaureate
Understanding of the Early Years development goals.
