Description
Elenas Way a Preble Street Wellness Shelter provides shelter and intensive support services to 40 individuals experiencing homelessness and complex physical and mental health needs in a 24hour traumainformed environment grounded in social work and medical best practices.
A Client Support Staff position with a parttime 3rd shift schedule is currently available in this serviceinclusive clientcentered shelter program. As part of the team providing comprehensive services to individuals accessing the Wellness Shelter Elenas Way Client Support Staff outreach and engage with clients provide direct services and program coverage maintain safety in program spaces provide crisis intervention and support and assist in case management activities.
This is an awake overnight position and the schedule for this position is Sunday & Monday 10:30pm 8:30am
Qualifications
Qualifications include education in social work or related field of study and experience in direct service provision to people experiencing homelessness or a combination of work experience education and/or training likely to provide the skills knowledge and ability to perform the work of the Client Support Staff. Also required are an understanding of and alignment with Preble Streets mission positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty and a commitment to providing lowbarrier services.
Additional requirements include strong communication deescalation and crisis intervention skills; familiarity with community resources; ability to engage with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations; and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
Client Support Staff are required to remain awake for the duration of shifts and to work during evening overnight and weekend hours with regular and consistent attendance.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate of pay for this parttime 20 hours/week) position is $22.45 per hour. As a direct service position in a 24/7 program this position is eligible for shift differentials of $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm or $2.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.
This position is eligible for the parttime benefits program which includes sick time and paid time off; eligibility to enroll in the 403(b) retirement plan with employer match; eligibility to enroll in the health and dental insurance plans with prorated premium contributions; and access to the Employee Assistance Program.
