East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work delivering essential local services and making a real difference to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Councils Property & Place Team as a Technical Officer & Project Manager.

The role:

To provide a comprehensive Civil Engineering/Land Management related design inspection and contract management service to internal and external stakeholders by delivering controlling and managing property related projects and maintenance services for the Councils land and infrastructure in a professional and customer focused way which achieves program meets performance targets and the Councils Strategic Plan.

To support in the management of Health and Safety ensuring that full compliance is met particularly in relation to the CDM Regulations and the Health and Safety at Work Act and that all industry statute is adhered to.

To manage projects using project management protocol to include management of change risk and budgetary control

What you will need:

You will have sound knowledge of an engineering discipline and associated regulations and methodologies. You will have experience in flood alleviations coastal water drainage land and infrastructure inspections and associate risk management.

You will have the ability to understand and translate plans and technical information and drawings and may have experience using AutoCAD LT 2024.

  • For band 6 entry you will have considerable experience within a similar role.
  • For band 7 entry you will have the above requirements plus a degree level qualification in engineering environmental geographical related field and experience in managing 150k works projects and contracts.
  • For band 8 entry you will have the above requirements plus CIWEM IET ICE or equivalent professional body membership and considerable experience of managing multiple 350k works projects and contracts.

You will also have access to your own vehicle or can be mobile across the district as and when needed.
