At Houston Methodist the Application Analyst position is responsible for intermediate level support and configuration of assigned applications. The position entails assisting training and supporting customers with the operation and administration of systems. The Application Analyst position troubleshoots issues and works with vendors on issue resolution and partners with customers to increase understanding of available tools to enhance operational efficiencies. Responsibilities for this position may include creating documentation and assisting other IT groups and teams with issues and problems. The Application Analyst position ensures the services provided contribute to the successful accomplishment of department and organizational goals. This position possesses intermediate technical expertise to support specific healthcare applications and will cross train to become proficient in multiple applications. The Application Analyst position applies skills in line with Houston Methodist values and goals to assure the efficient effective and consistent delivery of highquality IT services.
The Analytics Developer will serve as a reporting/analytics resource and will perform analysis provides specifications for and writes individual reports for assigned applications. This position requires critical thinking attention to detail and effective communication skills along with an ability to work collaboratively with teams and to consult with business area leads to generate solution recommendations. The Analytics Developer must be versatile and be able to communicate effectively in front of a group when providing training and education.
This position will be responsible for creating and modifying reports and analytical solutions using thirdparty reportwriting to display hospital data. This position will also be responsible for creating and modifying extracts using ETL tools to extract hospital data. The Analytics Developer will use database/reporting tools such as Microsoft SQL Server SAP Business Objects and Business Intelligence tools like Webi Tableau and Power BI to pursue and implement innovative approaches to data collection analysis interpretation and presentation to support planning and decisionmaking at all levels of the organization and assist in managing data as a corporate strategic resource. The Analytics Developer will be actively involved in system maintenance analysis of data design specifications documentation change control and versioning of reporting components used for advancing Houston Methodists reporting/data needs.
