Job Description

Performs work involved in the planning preparation and cooking of meats vegetables salads and other foods.Performs other kitchen operations including cleaning washing serving food storing food andother routine manual duties related to preparing and serving food. High school diploma requiredFood preparation experience preferredServeSafe Certification preferredMinimum of 2 years experience preferredRegularly lift up to 30 pounds and frequently 40 poundsAble to perform physical work efficiently with long periods of standing twisting and bendingOccasionally required to sit climb balance stoop kneel or crouch Able to quickly and accurately fulfill customer orders and requests Familiar with the use/care of kitchen equipmentWorks as a team member in a professional and positive mannerCitizenship residency or work visa requiredSalary as per negotiated contract between Newburyport School Committee and AFSCME unionEqual Opportunity EmployerNewburyport Public Schools does not discriminate in its programs activities or employment practices based on race color national origin age religion gender gender identity sexual orientation or disability.
