We have a fabulous job opportunity for a Handy Person to join our awesome Surrey and Hampshire teams. We are the multi skilled handson practical support that helps our colleagues deliver services to our customers. As a business we support customers with homeless and mental health issues in a wide range of properties and grounds. As our handy person youll spend much of your time working across our different services and properties.

Typical day as a Handy Person

• Doing minor or emergency repairs decorative touches or even cleaning in our properties or communal areas
• Doing things like hanging curtain poles moving furniture touching up paints changing tap washers unblocking sinks mowing lawns and clearing grounds or properties.
• Carrying out regular Fire Safety checks
• Working with colleagues commercial partners and customers throughout your day.
• Liaising with our Customer Service Centre and external contractors to report repairs outside of your remit and chase up outstanding works.
• Finally if building flat pack furniture is your thing then this is the perfect job for you!

About You

• A team player with a cando attitude and enthusiasm.
• Youre multi skilled with general maintenance skills know a bit about general repairs carpentry basic plumbing and can wield a broom or paint brush!
• Comfortable working and communicating with people from all walks of life
• It would be amazing if you have been a handy person in a previous job but its not a deal breaker.
• Able to use technology to keep up to date with email and other communications
• To get from A to B youll have a vehicle provided by Home Group and insured for business purposes.

Youll join Sally and our Surreyteam were super passionate about what we do! Were really proud of our can do attitude. Were a supportive bunch and like to meet regularly for a catch up and cuppa!

Job details

• Wework Monday to Friday 9 am 5 pm but were flexible and as long as we can meet our customers need we can flex your work pattern a little.
• Based at our service in Dorking or Camberley youll spend your time travelling around the properties in our Surrey patch predominantly in Dorking Camberley Guildford and Woking.
• Occasionally travel outside of our patch / service to work on a property that you may not have worked on before or when we have an all handson deck situation.
• Youll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
