Franklin University a private independent accredited notforprofit University located in Columbus Ohio invites applicants for its Student Teacher SupervisorFairfield County Ohio position beginning August 18 2025. The Student Teacher Supervisor acts as a Clinical Supervisor for student teachers in Ohio specifically assigned to oversee students within designated counties. This role requires 14 weeks of inperson supervision ensuring that student teachers are supported guided and assessed effectively throughout their teaching experience. Ideally the supervisor should hold a licensure that aligns with the licensure area of the student creating stronger more relevant mentorship experience by matching teaching specializations such as grade level or subject area.
This role will work a remote schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides 14 weeks of inperson supervision over student teacher candidate
Supervises student teachers provides guidance and ensures they adhere to program standards and expectations.
The supervisor will conduct a minimum of eleven meetings including:
o Initial meeting with student and coop teacher to establish ground rules
o Four student observation meetings
o Midterm evaluation meeting
o Four additional observation meetings
o Final evaluation meeting using the School of Educations approved clinical assessment method
Completes collects and submits all required student teaching documents by program deadlines
Maintains regular communication with student teachers via meetings phone calls email or Zoom providing regular feedback to increase their teaching performance
Objectively evaluates and grades Teacher Candidates based on classroom performance and submitted work
Fosters student confidence and teaching efficacy
Stays current with supervision approaches such as cognitive coaching adult learning theory and instructional practices
Communicates with the Clinical Field Office staff regarding student concerns
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Masters degree in Education
Must have daytime availability to conduct inperson school visits
Must reside in County or neighboring County where position resides within the state of Ohio
Hold/held a 5year Professional Teaching Licensure
5 years of K12 teaching experience
Familiarity with Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES) Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession (OSTP) and InTASC standards
Preferred Skills and Characteristics:
Experience with academic assessment programs (Candidate PreService Assessment for Teachers OTES etc.
Prior field supervision experience
Current/Active Ohio Teaching license
Previous experience mentoring or supervising teachers in Ohio
Familiarity with Google drive Microsoft teams online documents etc.
Additional Notes:
$750 Stipend per student teacher supervised
Mileage reimbursement to and from the school location
The maximum number of students one can supervise is 5
First time supervisors will not be given more than 13 students
