Description

The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a lawyer based in London to support its Global Corporate Bank in the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The lawyer will be an integral part of the Global Corporate Bank Legal team working closely with the regional lawyers based in EMEA and will support lending within the Global Corporate Bank with a strong focus on Acquisition & Leveraged Finance Direct Lending and general syndicated facility agreements.

As an Global Corporate Bank Legal EMEA Lending Lawyer Vice President in Legal department you will be an active contributor to the Legal Department participating in departmental wide projects and contributing to our strategic priorities.

Job responsibilities

  • Assisting (in accordance with policies procedures regulatory requirements and based on internal guidance and standard operating procedures) in the documentation negotiation and of lending transactions.
  • Providing support to wider legal team including partnering with colleagues on crossborder transactions and structuring and delivering appropriate training.
  • Working on group projects and initiatives and identifying and advising on related legal and regulatory issues and developments.
  • Proactively supporting the EMEA business with all necessary legal queries and being a trusted advisor to the relevant business stakeholders.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders and navigating the organization to assist the business in meeting its targets while mitigating risk on behalf of the firm.

Required qualifications skills and capabilities

  • A qualified lawyer with minimum of 4 years PQE in England and Wales (qualifications in other common law jurisdiction will be viewed favorably) and relevant experience gained at an international law firm and/or leading financial institution.
  • Strong technical knowledge is essential and knowledge of and experience with LMA loan documentation including confidentiality agreements term sheets mandate letters intercreditor agreements
  • Strong drafting negotiation and legal analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong working understanding of regulatory matters affecting lending.
  • Pragmatic with ability to strike appropriate balance between achieving the commercial goals of the business while protecting the interests of JPMorgan as a whole.
  • Confident and proactive with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities projectmanage and coordinate large projects in a dynamic global environment.
  • Ability to work independently on complex lending transactions escalating key issues where necessary.
  • Lawyer must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing or otherwise eligible to practice law in the jurisdiction in which the position is based.

Preferred qualifications skills and capabilities

  • knowledge of guarantees and security documents would be an advantage.
