Description
We are looking for caring and energeticTeacher Assistantsto join our childcare team. These individuals will contribute to a positive nurturing environment that is safe clean and organized for the children between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 years. Teacher Assistants will also encourage childrens overall development through appropriate playbased activities and by working collaboratively with families.
This position is available at our locations in Johnston and Ames.

This role offers flexible hours with no evening or weekend work required! Staff are eligible for a 403(b)retirement account with great company match as well as tuition discounts to multiple universities.
The starting pay rate for this position is $13/hour.
Schedule
We have a high need for support from 3pm6pm.
Flexible hours between 6:30am6pm.
Fulltime hours are also available.
What Youll Do
- Provide routine care for infants and/or children including diaper changing/assistance with personal cares hygiene and hand washing servingmeals and snacks.
- Maintain childrens safety by providing constant supervision in compliance with staff/child ratio requirementsand utilizing name to face attendance log.
- Consistently assess and monitor childrens general health and report concerns tosupervisor and family as appropriate.
- Complete tasks to maintain a clean organized and safe environment indoors and outdoors.
- Maintain and support a structured environment and routine according to Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports strategies.
- Provide exceptional customer service to families.
- Documentation Complete documentation accuratelyand according to established deadlines.
- Arrive on time and attend assigned training sessions staff meetings and annual staff development training.
What Youll Need
- Ability to pass a ChildServe physical examination at commencement of employment and thereafter as regulations require.
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs be mobile within the classroom and playground areas and frequently bend lift reach and stand.
- Ability to become certified in First Aide CPR Mandatory Reporter Standard Precautions and DHS PreService Essential training within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to communicate effectively in reading writing and speaking the English language.
- Experience providing care and supervision for children preferred.
