Requirements
1.1 Bachelors degree in Education or equivalent
1.2 Experienced educatorat least three years in the role of PYP Coordinator or other related leadership positions.
1.3 Possess IB teaching and leadership experience.
2. Knowledge and Skills. He/She should:
2.1 be aligned with the ISL values of belonging integrity grit and kindness;
2.2 possess excellent communication collaborative conflictresolution organizational and time management skills;
2.3 have indepth knowledge of primary curriculum assessment methods instructional leadership and effective teaching strategies;
2.4 possess a strong understanding of school operations compliance policies and procedures;

3. Roles and Responsibilities. (General)
This role is to support the Head of Primary in conjunction with the PSLT (Primary School Leadership Team) and other school leaders in:
Both living and communicating the schools mission vision and values within and beyond the ISL Qatar school community; acting as a highly visible rolemodel of the schools ethos; maintaining a strong commitment to inclusion and belonging in all aspects of the role;
The daytoday management of the Primary School;
Formulating objectives and tasks that will enrich the schools approach to pastoral care (and contribute to the effectiveness of the entire school);
Establishing policies procedures and strategies to achieve those objectives as well as accompanying action plans;
Monitoring progress towards meeting those objectives
Other responsibilities:
Leadership and managerial duties
To support the Head of Primary in the daytoday effective and efficient functioning of the school in tasks such as:
Managing staff cover and volunteer staff (in conjunction with the Academic Assistant)
Timetabling (design and data entry)
Duty organization (in conjunction with the Academic Assistant)
Primary assembly organization (in conjunction with the Fox Council)
Oncall/emergency situations.
Pastoral care duties (Dean of Students)
To create and maintain a school culture in which stakeholders experience positive and enriching school life through the lens of the schools guiding statements and values; to promote school spirit and pride in belonging to ISL Qatar through the support of assemblies events initiatives etc.
To be highly visible both during and outside of work hours in the school community through the supervision of break times visitations and observations of learning and organization of or attendance of many events (inside and outside of the primary school scope);
To actively create and maintain positive relationships with students staff parents and other community stakeholders present and future
Safeguarding Duties
To act as the Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) in the Primary School playing a key role in promoting and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.
To support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in managing child protection concerns in collaboration with the safeguarding team.
To maintain accurate and confidential safeguarding records and liaise with external agencies as required in close partnership with the Head of Inclusion.
To model and uphold a culture of vigilance trust and proactive safeguarding throughout the school community ensuring staff are confident and consistent in implementing safeguarding policies and procedures.
