The Field Service Technician (FST) CoOp Program in Sarasota Orlando St. Petersburg and PlantationFL offers an incredible opportunity for passionate individuals with no/minimal work experience to learn andgrow.
As an FST CoOp you will work directly alongside skilled and experienced technical leaders in theorganization gaining handson experience in the field. Through the FST CoOp Program you will develop aunique skill set in both multisite RF communications systems and computer/networking skills. Thiscombination of knowledge will allow you to make a valuable contribution to the Public Safety customers in theassigned area. We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and can thrive in highpressuresituations. As an FST CoOp you will have the chance to solve customer problems quickly and effectivelyeven in stressful scenarios. This will help you develop your problemsolving skills and build resilience.
Throughout the coop you will work closely with Motorola Solutions Public Safety Customers and theSubcontractor (MSS) community. You will also collaborate with teams from Sales Engineering ProjectManagement and Customer Service. This will give you exposure to various areas of the organization andallow you to develop a wellrounded understanding of the industry.

In this exciting role you will have the opportunity to learn and grow while contributing to important field activities. Your academic principles gained from courses will be put into practice in a dynamic professional environment.
As part of the team you will provide valuable technical support for specialized telecommunications systems and public safety product applications. This handson experience will allow you to develop a deep understanding of these systems and their realworld applications.
You will also play a crucial role in maintaining and documenting complex communications systems. This will give you firsthand experience in system maintenance and documentation best practices.
Your contributions will be recognized through weekly reports allowing you to showcase your activities and accomplishments. This will help you sharpen your communication skills and highlight your achievements.
Additionally you will have the opportunity to develop innovative solutions to challenging technical problems. This problemsolving experience will enhance your critical thinking abilities and help you develop creative approaches to system maintenance upgrades and support.

Preferred Candidate Knowledge/Experience:
Currently pursuing certifications in Security Network CCNA or NRS1
Understanding of wired communications systems like local area networks (LAN) and widearea networks (WAN)
Ability to install configure and maintain computer networks including cabling routers switches firewalls and bridges.
Familiarity with R.F. interfaces and systems such as transmitters receivers and antenna networks.
Knowledge of standard telephony dedicated data circuits and packet switching techniques.
Understanding of logging recording systems.
During the CoOp Program you will gain handson experience with the following equipment:
Motorola Base Stations (STR series GTR series etc.
Centracom Consoles (Gold Elite MCC7500 MCC7100
Computer IP Networks and Configuration
Experience working with RF Infrastructure Technologies including Motorola SmartZone Smartnet Console Systems ASTRO Conventional and Trunked equipment
The CoOp Program will also provide you with technical skills in using various communicationstest equipment such as:
Communication System Analyzers
Ethernet Link test sets
TIMS (Transmission Impairment Measurement Set)
Digital RF Power Meter
Motorola Conventional SmartNet Centracom and MCC Console systems Secure Operations and ASTRO A7.x A20.x Digital systems and installation procedures.

Must be a current student attending a 2 year program or a 4 year program at a college university or technical school
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.
Must possess a current and valid drivers license and have a clean driving record.
