Job Description

Minimum Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of a Program in Radiologic Technology required.
Required Skills:
  • Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
RequiredCertifications/Licenses:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Hearth Association (AHA) required.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.

Minimum Work Experience:
  • Previous clinical experience in Radiography Special Procedures Mammography CT or MRI required.

Position Summary:

Sovah Danville is seeking a PRN Special Procedures Tech to perform various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

  • Reviews patient history and physicians orders.
  • Obtains radiographs with stationary radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Troubleshoots resolves and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Implements safety standards and performs daily quality control checks and startup of radiological equipment in the surgical suite.
  • When ordered prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Enters transmits and reports scan results.
