Position is a Research Scientist in the laboratory of Dr. Marcela Maus to manage and conduct cutting edge research in cellular immunotherapy with an eye towards clinical translation including performing and overseeing preclinical studies as well as being involved in the regulatory process.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement preclinical studies in the field of T cell engineering and cellular immunotherapy including viral vector design and production engineering of human T cells and cell lines and development of mouse models to test the efficacy and safety of engineered T cells.
Design execute and interpret research experiments.
Investigates creates and develops new methods and technologies for research advancements
Assist in laboratory management and supervises ordering and inventory.
Maintain laboratory safety binders and regulatory documents such as minimalrisk human research protocols and animal protocols.
Contribute to scientific literature and present research at scientific forums.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Demonstrated ability to work independently and productively.
Strong research design and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to problem solve.
Strong teaching skills and ability to supervise trainees and students.
In depth knowledge of field of research; immunology experimental therapeutics and tumor models.
Extensive postgraduate experience with small animal surgery and tumor models molecular biology and immunotherapy.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
PhD or MD with5 or more years of postdoctoral experience in a researchrelated field.
