Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the SENIOR/CHARGE TECHNOLOGIST and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission Values and Management Philosophy of Shared Health the General Duty RadiologyTechnologist MRT performs assigned Diagnostic duties in accordance with their scope of training and experience. The General Duty Radiology Technologist MRT assist radiologist in performance of radiologic procedures assist with training and orientation of technologist participates in instructing students provides direct patient care administrative and operational support functions required as part of the multidisciplinary team approach of service delivery. As well as other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Patient care experience preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Imaging Technology.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists certification exam (CAMRT).

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Must be a member of CAMRTMB and CAMRT in good standing.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position and be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
  • Must demonstrate the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with clients.
  • Must be able to safely transfer large and/or heavy clients who may have limited or no weight bearing capabilities.
  • Must be able to lift and position clients some of whom are in a state of unconsciousness.
  • May be exposed to radiation (within acceptable limits).
  • May be required to occasionally work extended hours.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases blood and body fluids toxic materials noise allergens physical and emotional stress.
  • May encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients/visitors/staff.
  • Must be able to push/pull portable equipment in a safe manner.
  • May be required to work with provincial safety and health officer or other employees in the continuous development of safe work practices/place.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six 6 months prior to the start of employment.

Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre Deer Lodge Centre Golden West Centennial Lodge Grace Hospital Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg Pan Am Clinic River Park Gardens Victoria General Hospital WRHA corporate programs and WRHA community health services.
