What You Will Do
Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic and multidisciplinary engineering organization focused on the development integration certification and support of military and commercial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems and related subsystems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development and support including requirements analysis & definition system & software architecture algorithm design product software design verification & validation and engine and flight test support. The CDS organization is seeking a highly motivated team oriented and results driven Sr. Engineer to join our worldclass organization.
Responsible for designing developing and implementing solutions to control dynamic mechanical power and electrical systems.
Decompose system level and customer interface requirements into systems or software requirements and designs.
Integration with control system engine system and aircraft design engineers.
Safety and reliability analysis and reporting including functional hazard assessments (FHA fault tree analysis (FTA) system safety assessments common mode analysis failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and failure mode and effect criticality analysis (FMECA).
English (read write speak) is required when communicating with customers coworkers or supervisors who only speak English.
Based on business needs the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company and have availability to travel up to 10.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering.
5 years of engineering experience or an Advanced degree in Engineering with 3 years of engineering experience.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with jet engine control and diagnostic system architectures and control logic design.
Experience with gas turbine jet engine operation and subsystems.
Experience in control system design/implementation and familiarity with D0178C ARP4754A and ARP4761 Standards.
2 years of experience with modeling tools for complex systems (Simulink).
2 years of programming experience with Java C/C R Python Linux or DOORS.
Experience with ModelBased Systems Engineering concepts and methodologies; using MBSE tools and frameworks such as SysML UML Cameo Systems Modeler or similar.
Active Secret Clearance.
