Job Description
Certified Central Service Technician. Minimum five years experience in Central Supply Department; minimum two years supervisory experience. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills essential. Clinical background in surgical service and experience with computerized systems preferred.
Supervise the shift personnel and work flow in decontamination instrument kit assembly processing sterilization (steam Sterrad and Steris) chemical and biological monitoring storage and distribution and surgical case cart system. Monitor and enforce staff compliance with departmental procedures and other hospital policies. Orient and train shift personnel with department processes in accordance with departmental procedures and hospital policies. Plan staff scheduling for appropriate shifts. Instruct and supervise staff personnel in use cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Maintain adequate inventory of supplies required for department activities. Utilize computerized systems including surgical preference cards Meditech MSM and Instrument Management System for efficient work performance of the department. Monitor quality assurance of Central Supply Department. Assist in the preparation of employee performance appraisals.
