RESEARCH ASSISTANT II Neuromodulation Lab 40 hrsThe Neuromodulation Center is a very large and busy Neuroscience lab located at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network Research Institute in Charlestown MA. The ideal candidate for this Research Assistant II position will possess a myriad of qualities related to project management regulatory coordination personnel coordination and oversight of the clinical research trials in the lab. Candidate must have at least a Bachelors degree in neuroscience nursing or a related field. Previous regulatory experience is preferred.Job Responsibilities:The primary responsibility for the Research Assistant II under this role will be management of the regulatory needs for trials being conducted in the Neuromodulation Center under the direction of Dr. Fregni. This individual will be responsible to maintain study compliance for federal state and IRB regulatory bodies among others. This includes but is not limited to: being a primary contact for research subjects interested in the trials; synthesis and submission of amendments initial applications and annual reviews of all research to the Institutional Review Board (IRB); under the direction of the PI the ability to train and oversee new research personnel being added to protocols to ensure regulatory compliance; and be a primary regulatory contact for funding bodies (per grant funding reporting requirements).Other responsibilities include: General organization of laboratory and meeting schedules Assists PI by preparing and organizing presentations for conferences. Organizes all aspects of administrative paperwork related to current fellows including assembly of required HR or VISA paperwork as needed for incoming staff/fellows. Using OVID and PubMed to perform online literature searches. Assist with grant management including: processes forms for ordering supplies and generating payments; maintains office inventory aware of grant funds budgets balances in accordance with the PI and other administrative research staff in the lab. Perform administrative tasks to manage recruitment on multiple research studies in the laboratory including keeping records of subjects called screened and enrolled in all studies. Perform subject telephone screenings prior to enrollment in the studies. Work collaboratively with the entire research team and meet weekly with research fellows PI and administrative staff to coordinate study efforts. Create and distribute advertisement materials for research studies including flyers brochures and letters. Create and conduct formal presentations regarding studies as needed for clinicians researchers and/or potential subjects. Skills Needed: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree degree in neuroscience nursing or a related field helpful Strong leadership skills with the ability to selfdirect tasks Superior administrative and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills required including polished telephone skills. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications; Pagemaker Adobe Pubmed OVID EndNote Strong data entry skills preferred experience with FileMaker or similar database software a plus.
