Bachelorsdegree required master degree preferred

WORKINGCONDITIONS:
TheMGPO Professional Billing Office is located in the Charlestown Navy Yard campus
Thehours are usually Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM but vary accordingto the demands on this exempt salaried position
Thework environment is very busy and dynamic
Staffis very collaborative and work together to solve issues with particularpractice issues
Thereare often multiple conversations occurring at the same time the staff needsto be able to handle an environment that is not quiet
Theemployee is required to travel to any Partners facilities to attend offsitemeetings. This includes travel to newclient sites
SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITY:
The Operations Managermanages all of the Managers in the Department except those assigned toAnesthesia and Radiology
FISCALRESPONSIBILITY:
Thefiscal responsibility varies based on the practice(s). While the OperationsManager does not directly support any practices the individual is responsiblefor ensuring that PBOwide budget targets are reasonable and that they areattained; for those that are not obtained variances must be explained.

Workingunder the general direction of the Director of the Group Practice Managementdepartment (GPM) in the Professional Billing Office (PBO) the OperationsManager serves as an onsite resource to monitor the daytoday operations ofthe Department and to supervise the Manager in the Department. The OM will conduct weekly teammeetings attend and participate in weekly management meetings and ensure thatthe various goals and objectives of the Department are implemented. The OM willwork closely with his/her staff in order to provide mentoring and professionaldevelopment for both direct and indirect reports. The OM willbe responsible for conducting timely merit reviews for all assigned staff andwill work to ensure that all staff are trained appropriately and followestablished service standards. Inaddition the OM serves as an important linkto interdepartmental initiatives.
TheMGPO Professional Billing Office is the central billing office for physicianpractices affiliated with Massachusetts GeneralHospital in Boston Massachusetts.
Workwith the Departments management team to hire and retain qualified staff
Managedirect reports by providing including but not limited to timely meritreviews mentoring teambuilding exercises training and discipline
Conductweekly team meetings to address issues resolve problems and implementdepartment policy as it relates to new business or established businessobjectives and/or standards
Meetweekly with the Managers and separately with the AD to review tasks goals progressand Human Resource issues. Carry outassigned duties as required
Workclosely with the Managers/Billing Managers to set financial performanceexpectations related to their assigned practices. By understanding all facets of the practicerevenue cycle the OM is able to focus theManagers/Billing Managers on areas that need improvement
Workwith Managers Billing Managers and PBO leadership on annual budgetingforecasting and analysis for all practices
Providementoring and professional development opportunities for staff
Collaboratewith the Training Manager to develop and enhance training program
Attendthe PBO Managers/Supervisors meeting on a monthly basis
Meetmonthly with Coding and Third Party counterparts
Participatein committees or task forces as needed or assigned
Serveas a backup to Managers and Billing Managers as needed
