As part of a Career Progression Groupvacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Social Service Counselor 1 or 2 depending on the level of education and experience of the selected applicant(s).
- Social Service Counselor 1(pay grade level SS410 has a minimum salary of $16.06/hourly; $1284.80/biweekly.
- Social Service Counselor 2(pay grade level SS411 has a minimum salary of $17.18/hourly; $1374.40/biweekly.
**Note regarding the advertised pay range:The advertised maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title/level over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of social services experience; OR
Six years of fulltime experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of fulltime work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Positions that provide addictive disorder counseling or prevention services will require certification or eligibility for certification issued by the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority (ADRA) or its successor.Job Concepts

Provide direct services to a specialized caseload and conducts specific assessments and data collection.
Coordinates admissions discharges and followup services within various programs.
Assist clients with completing documents.
Assists in determining eligibility for services provided.
Complete Preauthorizations and reauthorizations for third party payments.
Manage electronic health records for all patients ensuring records are complete.
Maintains client account by obtaining and recoding and updating personal and financial information.
Performs responsible initial departmentalprogram duties in accordance with rules regulations and policies. May involve communication with other departments customers etc.
