Join Our Team as a Residential Youth Support Worker!

Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in their lives MacKillops Out of Home Care (OOHC) program for disadvantaged and vulnerable youth are looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals like you to join our team!

In this role with MacKillop Family Services youll have the opportunity to provide inhome care and support to young people who need it most helping them grow develop and thrive in a safe nurturing environment.

About the Role:

As a Residential Youth Support Worker youll be at the heart of our Residential Services where we provide a safe and nurturing home for children and young people referred through the Child Protection system. Youll play an active role in their daytoday care offering emotional support fostering personal growth and helping them build life skills.

Your tasks will include:

  • Supporting young peoples emotional and practical needs offering a listening ear and helping out when they need it most.
  • Encouraging personal growth and wellbeing helping them build skills confidence and a positive outlook on life.
  • Managing the behindthescenes tasks taking care of the daytoday admin and helping the household run smoothly.
  • Creating a positive environment ensuring the space stays welcoming stable and supportive for everyone.
  • Providing a nurturing home environment including cooking nutritious meals and encouraging our young people to eat a healthy balanced diet.

What Were Looking For:

To be a great fit for this role youll need:

  • A Certificate IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention (or a similar relevant qualification plus the completion of x4 Residential Skill Set units).
  • A valid drivers license (youll need it to get around).
  • Working with Children Check Criminal History Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (well help with this if needed).
  • A genuine passion for helping young people thrive and a caring heart.
  • Empathy with the ability to connect with young people in a nonjudgmental way.
  • Strong emotional selfregulation skills youll be the steady hand that provides safety consistency and stability to those in your care.
