FACILITY RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST
We are seeking a skilled and detailoriented Facility Radiologic Technologist to join our team within a correctional facility. This fulltime role is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures specifically Xrays for incarcerated individuals. The ideal candidate will be highly professional able to work in a secure and controlled environment and possess a strong understanding of radiologic practices and safety protocols.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnostic Imaging
- Perform diagnostic Xray procedures on patients in a correctional facility ensuring highquality imaging results.
- Position patients properly to capture clear and accurate images while maintaining their safety and comfort.
- Review Xray images for clarity and accuracy before submission to the supervising physician or radiologist.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Operate and maintain radiologic equipment ensuring all machines are in proper working condition.
- Assist with the maintenance of radiology equipment and report any malfunctions or issues.
- Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation of Xray exams including patient details and procedure notes.
- Follow established radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure to patients staff and self.
- Ensure radiographs meet technical standards and comply with protocols and safety regulations.
- Communication and Security
- Communicate effectively with correctional officers and healthcare providers to ensure timely and efficient patient care.
- Maintain a professional and calm demeanor when interacting with incarcerated individuals.
- Adhere to all security protocols and facility guidelines while performing job duties.
REQUIREMENTS
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- State licensure required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Experience working in a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
- Proficient in the use of radiologic equipment and imaging software.
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Ability to work independently in a highpressure securityconscious environment.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand walk and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under highstress situations.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and patient needs.
WORK CONDITIONS
- Work is performed within the secure environment of a correctional facility.
- Interaction with incarcerated individuals is required with safety protocols followed at all times.
- Standard shift hours with potential for overtime or oncall duties.
