MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR
Six years of fulltime work experience plus two years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR
A bachelors degree plus two years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus one year of experience in education teaching or administrative services.
FUNCTION OF WORK:
To assist in the development and implementation of educational programs affecting populations involved in learning and education.
LEVEL OF WORK:
Experienced.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Close from an Education Consultant Supervisor Education Division Director or higherlevel professional.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None.
LOCATION OF WORK:
Predominantly located at the Department of Education. Other locations may be approved by SCS.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from the Education Consultant 2 by the absence of advanced level duties and close supervision from a higherlevel professional.

Assists with development and implementation of all aspects of an educational program affecting populations such as students teachers principals central office personnel and ancillary/support personnel in the public school systems special schools nonpublic schools public and private colleges and universities technical colleges local neglected and delinquent institutions and state correctional institutions; and individuals from other profit and nonprofit agencies organizations and institutions.
Assists in determining program goals and objectives and in the development of plans to effectively implement the specified program.
Assists research design implementation and evaluation of current and longrange plans rules regulations guidelines and policies in accordance with federal or state laws and policies within a limited group of related programs within a division.
Assists in the design development and researching of projects on the basis of national/state reports trends economic conditions future needs educational research findings and state and federal legislative or policy developments.
Assists schools and school systems in securing the best possible results for their efforts by building the capacity of school and system teams.
Assists in the development of evaluation designs to measure the quality and effectiveness of program(s) and their impact on students.
Assists in the planning conducting and evaluation of staff development and inservice training (including national state and regional workshops hearings conferences) for personnel in the Department of Education local education agencies colleges and universities technical colleges correctional schools and institutions as well as churches civil associations business and industry groups special committees and task forces professional associations and organizations special interest groups parents and other citizens.
Assists in providing technical assistance to local superintendents of education other educators and other persons outside the field of education on programs policies procedures laws and regulations; and answers questions and assists in the resolution of problems.
